I have spent over 18 years traveling in/around Asia and have grown to love the people, culture and visual beauty that abounds. Asia offers a unique and enriching travel experience, one that cannot be easily duplicated.

Over the years I have been asked many times if I would be willing to develop a tour of Taipei, Taiwan, a place I know very well. The time has come and I am excited to announce my first "Art and Adventure" tour of Taipei,  taking place February, 19th - March 1st 2019.

This trip is intended to provide a rich cultural experience for each participant, one that is inclusive of both the arts and daily life. Taipei is a wonderful city that offers travelers the opportunity to experience the best of Asian culture. The people are warm and friendly, food is high quality and delicious, and the MRT (subway) allows for easy access to many sights. There are many wonderful things to see, temples, wet markets and much more. one of the places we will visit on this trip is The National Palace Museum which has one of the largest and most esteemed collections of Asian art in the world. Recently the National Palace Museum Southern Branch opened to the public and also offers a rich cultural and architectural experience.

Over this 9 day adventure (12 days total, 3 travel and 9 in country) participants will visit museums, temples, wet markets, The Jade Market/Jiangou Holiday Flower Market, Yingge Ceramics Village/Yingge Ceramics Museum, paper & art stores and participate in a traditional Asian painting class. I will take participants to my favorite restaurants and to see the places that have touched my heart and made an indelible imprint on me.

           Roahe Night Market

             Lungshan Temple, Taipei

I am limiting the size of the group to 6, this will allow me to create a more personal travel experience for participants. Sign-up is "first come first serve", once all 6 slots are filled, registration will close, however I will maintain a waiting list should someone need to drop out.

There will be a lot of walking, so participants will need to be able to walk for up to 4 to 6 hours in one day (with many breaks of course). The topography in Taipei is mostly flat, so walking is fairly easy, however we will be taking the MRT (subway) to many locations and sight seeing will require walking.
