Black Horsehair Sumi-e Paint Brush with Ceramic Beetle Ferrule

This unique and beautiful brush was made with bamboo, a ceramic ferrule, and premium quality black horsehair. The handle is super satiny, smooth, and has a beautiful natural ribbed shape. The horsehair is super soft, has great flex, strong spring, natural uncut tips, and will make a wide variety of marks. The brush bristle has a traditional Sumi-e style tapered shape. The brush bristle will hold a TON of media and can make very bold and dynamic marks. The ferrule has an image of a beetle on it which was handpainted by Elizabeth. This is a large brush, the handle is proportionate to the brush head.

The brush has:

• A leather hanging strap 
• The handle is 18" in length, including the ferrule
• The ferrule is ceramic

Bristlehead:

• Is 4.5" in length and made with premium quality, uncut horsehair
• The brush head has a traditional tapered shape

My brushes are made to create a vast array of marks. When I make a brush I think about all aspects of the tool: how it looks, how it feels in the hand, and how it paints - to ensure that the end product is a true "fine art tool".
