This is listing is for a handcrafted parrot feather Sumi-e paintbrush which was made with soft, flexible parrot feathers that are 4.5" in length. These types of feathers can make very energetic and dynamic marks, they are wonderful to work with. The feathers have very good spring and shape recall. They are a bit stiff and work especially well with brushstrokes that twist and rotate. If you are looking for a brush that will create unexpected marks, then this brush is a good choice.
This brush is similar to the brush that is first featured in the video below.
The bamboo handle is 8" long and has a leather hanging strap. The ferrule has a copper wrap.
Feather brushes are also very durable and clean up well. The smaller brush that I use in this video is 8 years old.
