This brush was handmade by Elizabeth, it has a bamboo handle and high-quality rooster saddle feathers bristle head. The rooster saddle feathers are soft, thick, flexible and make interesting marks. This brush is made to work with ink or other media that is water-based. The brush has a porcelain ferrule with a hand-drawn design and leather handing strap.

This brush is a work of art!

This is a very special brush and a work of art in its own right! The rooster saddle is a thick cluster of 5" long rusty/orange colored feathers, and the handle is a very unusual piece of bamboo. The bamboo looks kind of segmented, with thoughtfully designed 'burn marks' that compliment the growth pattern of the bamboo. The end of the brush has a really cool seed/nut with leather loop, and near the feather end of the brush, there is a tiny little seashell nested into a natural depression in the bamboo. A beautiful touch! Making a brush stroke feels soft and silky, and the marks varied and unexpected. It came very well and protectively wrapped and packaged. The feathers were covered by a cardboard tube, and then she wrapped the brush in bubble wrap, folding the ends of the tape back upon itself, which made pulling the tape off of the bubble wrap so much easier . Very thoughtful! Another absolutely gorgeous brush by Elizabeth!
