Horsehair Sumi-e Paint Brush With Porcelain Ferrule

This brush was made with my high-quality horsehair. The handle is bamboo and the porcelain ferrule has a sgraffito water design. The high-quality horsehair is a  soft, semi-coarse, has great flex, strong spring and will make a wide variety of marks, from wide/dynamic to very fine.

This brush as a super full bristle and will make very bold and dramatic marks. If you want to work large, then this brush is a great option.

The brush has:

• A leather hanging strap
• The ferrule is porcelain which has a handpainted image of water

Traditional Sumi-e style bristle head:

• The Horsehair is 4.5" X 6" in length & width
• The Handle is 17" in length

My brushes are made to create a vast array of marks. When I make a brush I think about all aspects of the tool: how it looks, how it feels in the hand and how it paints - to ensure that the end product is a true "fine art tool".
