This brush rest was made using a piece of beautiful natural driftwood from the flathead valley. I found it while walking on the North Shore of Flathead Lake in an area we call The Bone Yard. A place we love to walk, especially in the fall and winter when the lake levels are low.
The piece I used for this brush rest was created by a Beaver. The teeth marks are visible on both ends. It is a larger size brush rest 10" in length and approximately 3" high. It has 3 resting areas for placing your brushes.
- (the listing is for the brush rest ONLY).
The wood is a beautiful organic shape, with white, grey & light brown hues, and has distinctive and interesting features that were created by a Beaver. On either end, you can clearly see the teeth marks from the Beaver.
I love nature and really enjoy thinking about the story behind this beautiful piece of natural wood.

I’ve been looking for a way to display a few pieces of my collection of Japanese brushes. After seeing Elizabeth’s magnificent brushes on Instagram, I looked on her site for brush rests. I found a beautiful piece for my purposes. I’m delighted to have found such a wonderful maker of crafts. You won’t see anything like her work, truly original, earthy, organic and lovely.
