Large Sumi-e Brush With Bamboo Handle (Embers Series)

This listing is for a Sumi-e brush that is designed for very dramatic and bold mark-making. The brush has a huge bristle head (10" in length) and a 23" long handle (including the ferrule). The bamboo handle has a burned-in embers pattern and a leather hanging strap. 

The ferrule is porcelain and has a blue speckled glaze.

The porcelain ferrule is 5" in height. 

The bristle head is 10" in length, and is made with semi-coarse mixed horsehair. It is naturally tapered and has a nice amount of softness while maintaining its spring.

 This brush is ideal for artists that are interested in working on a large scale. The handle length will accommodate working in s standing position or on a large hanging canvas. The horsehair bristle is a really nice combination of soft and mildly coarse hair. The natural taper of the bristle will allow the brush to move easily across the painting surface.
