This brush was made with bamboo root and my premium quality grey horsehair. The bamboo handle has a leather hanging strap. Premium grey horsehair has great flex, is soft and the tips a natural/uncut which allows for better control and fine line work.
The brush head is also cut in a slightly pointed slant.
The brush handle was made from a beautiful piece of bamboo root. It also has a delicate bristle head, that is made so that it can move to a delicate point.
Each brush I make is different and unique. I try to bring out the voices of the materials I use, connecting them with each other in a way that makes them feel complete.
My brushes are made to create a vast array of marks. When I make a brush I think about all aspects of the tool: how it looks, how it feels in the hand and how it paints - to ensure that the end product is a true "fine art tool".
