Sumi-e Paint Brushes With Ceramic Ferrules

These brushes were made with bamboo and my premium quality grey horsehair. The bamboo handles have a leather hanging and ceramic ferrules. The light grey horsehair has great flex, is soft a bit stiff and has been cut into a rounded slant. The darker gray is soft and has a rounded head.

All three brushes have large brush heads and can make dynamic marks.

The brushes have ceramic ferrules which I designed and made by hand. 

The brushes are light in the hand, yet can make very expressive and larger marks.

Small Slant:

• The Premium Light Grey Horsehair is 2" in length
• The Handle is 7.5" in length

Med. Slant:

• The Premium Light Grey Horsehair is 2" in length
• The Handle is 11" in length

Med. Round:

• The Dark Grey Horsehair is 3" in length
• The Handle is 9.5" in length

My brushes are made to create a vast array of marks. When I make a brush I think about all aspects of the tool: how it looks, how it feels in the hand and how it paints - to ensure that the end product is a true "fine art tool".
