My brushes are handcrafted with only the highest quality materials. All of my brushes are unique and are made to make art.
When making a brush I try to use found materials as much as possible, but I do occasionally buy fossils, feathers, rocks or stones, etc. When I make a brush, I consider all factors, how it looks, how it feels in the hand, and how it will lay down paint. I want my brushes to inspire, to be beautiful, but I also want them to work really well, this is always my goal.
I make all sizes of brushes, from small to very large. My Contemporary Sumi-e brushes are made to make art, they can hold a ton of media if needed, and the larger brushes are perfect for painters that want to work on very large canvases.
I enjoy working with artists on commissions, so if you have something specific in mind, contact me.

I get a lot of questions about my brushes. Customers frequently ask what kind of marks the brushes can make, or which medium can be used. To learn more about my brushes click on the adjacent picture
This brush is a true work horse, and delivers awesome marks. It feels good in my hands and connects me to my muse. Plus, it is a beautiful masterpiece, a work of art that really stands out in my studio. I absolutely love it and all the other brushes that I have that Elizabeth made...she is a true brush master.
Once again, Elizabeth has imbued the fish on Kim's pottery with lives of their own! The colours are delightful and the patterns full of life. This is going to make a great gift, if I can bear to give it away. Thank you!
As is usual with Elizabeth and Kim's pottery, the workmanship is impeccable. The little fish look like they will come to life if you add water to the bowl. The touches of red add character and interest. Although I want to keep this I'm sending it to Australia as a gift
Elizabeth's tools add an indefinable elevation to plain working. Everything is weighted brilliantly. Similar to the day when you stepped back from an easel and held a piece of charcoal under the pad of your thumb and your mind and body became one with your mark making. All her tools are gorgeous, but more importantly they help express an elegance and confidence to your effort.
Its different, and better, than black encaustic paint
The mixture of this paint creates a "grippy" feel. You can create defined lines and shapes without pooling or separating that sometimes occurs with commercial encaustic paints. The cube shape allows you to make different types of marks directly with the cube which is a great way to start drawing.
I used a variety of tools to make marks, silicone kitchen utensils, silicon art shapers, etc and nothing compares to the tools offered by Elizabeth. The are easy to handle and allow you to execute finite movement, they create defined lines and clear patterns. I purchased the smaller size because I am working on an 8x10 aluminum plate and its perfect.
I have ordered from Elizabeth before and I am never disappointed. She has great customer service and the inkstone was exactly what I was looking for. It arrived very quickly and packed with great care. Thank you so much Elizabeth for your great products.
Using my ink bowls, made by Kim and decorated by Elizabeth, bring me pleasure every time I take them out. My newest bowl is a delight to look at with little orange fish darting round and it nestles in my hand as it it were custom made.
This pottery, along with Elizabeth's wonderful brushes, are gifts to myself. I delight in them!
