Auburn Horsehair Sumi-e Paint Brush with Ceramic Ferrule

This unique and beautiful brush was made with a piece of Flathead Lake driftwood and my premium auburn horsehair. The handle is super satiny, smooth, and has a ceramic ferrule. The horsehair is super soft, has uncut flog/tips, great flex, strong spring, and will make a wide variety of marks. The horsehair a traditional Asian brush shape. The brush bristle will hold a lot of media and can make very bold and dynamic marks.

The brush has:

• A leather hanging strap with a natural seed
• The ferrule is ceramic

Bristlehead:

• The black horsehair is 4" in length (the white flecks pictured on the bristle is snow)
• The handle is 10" in length

My brushes are made to create a vast array of marks. When I make a brush I think about all aspects of the tool: how it looks, how it feels in the hand, and how it paints - to ensure that the end product is a true "fine art tool".
