Auburn Horsehair Sumi-e Paint Brush with Ceramic Ferrule LSB#1

This unique and beautiful brush was made with bamboo, a ceramic ferrule, and high-quality auburn horsehair. The handle is super satiny, smooth, and has a beautiful natural ribbed shape. 

The horsehair is semi-soft, has great flex, strong spring,  and will make a wide variety of marks. The brush bristle has a traditional Sumi-e style tapered shape, and it is long, 3.75" in length. The brush bristle will hold a TON of media and can make very bold and dynamic marks. Because the bristle is coarse, it also works well making fine lines and unexpected marks.

This is a large brush, the handle is proportionate to the brush head.

The brush has:

• A leather hanging strap 
• The handle is 19" in length, including the ferrule
• The ferrule is ceramic
• It has a natural shell embellishment on the end

Bristlehead:

• Is 3.75" in length 
• The brush head has a traditional tapered shape

My brushes are made to create a vast array of marks. When I make a brush I think about all aspects of the tool: how it looks, how it feels in the hand, and how it paints - to ensure that the end product is a true "fine art tool".
