Mixed Horsehair Sumi-e Paint Brush with Ceramic Ferrule #130
Mixed Horsehair Sumi-e Paint Brush with Ceramic Ferrule #130
This unique and beautiful brush has a handle made from a piece of driftwood from the North Shore of Flathead lake. The bark on this wood is a favorite of beavers, they eat almost all of it off the wood, leaving a shiny patina and beautiful pattern.
The horsehair is super soft, has great flex, strong spring, natural uncut tips, and will make a wide variety of marks. The brush bristle has a traditional Sumi-e style tapered shape. The brush bristle will hold a TON of media and can make very bold and dynamic marks.
The ferrule is a dark brown color with metallic bronze highlights.
The brush has:
- A leather hanging strap
- The handle is 13" in length, including the ferrule
- The ferrule is ceramic
Bristlehead:
- Is 4" in length and made with premium quality, natural tipped
- The brush head has a traditional tapered shape
My brushes are made to create a vast array of marks. When I make a brush I think about all aspects of the tool: how it looks, how it feels in the hand, and how it paints - to ensure that the end product is a true "fine art tool".
