Mixed Horsehair Sumi-e Paint Brush with Ceramic Ferrule #117
Mixed Horsehair Sumi-e Paint Brush with Ceramic Ferrule #117
This unique and beautiful brush was made with a piece of driftwood from the North Shore of Flathead Lake, it has a ceramic ferrule, and premium quality mixed horsehair.
This is a large brush, it is a great option for those that want to work on large-scale work.
The handle is super satiny, and smooth. The horsehair is super soft, has great flex, strong spring, natural uncut tips, and will make a wide variety of marks. The brush bristle has a traditional Sumi-e style tapered shape. The brush bristle will hold a TON of media and can make very bold and dynamic marks.
The ferrule has a whimsical image on it which was handpainted by Elizabeth. This is a large brush, the handle is proportionate to the brush head.
The brush has:
- A leather hanging strap
- A see embellishment on the end
- The handle is 17" in length, including the ferrule
- The ferrule is ceramic
Bristlehead:
- Is 6.5" in length and made with premium quality, natural tipped
- The brush head has a traditional tapered shape
My brushes are made to create a vast array of marks. When I make a brush I think about all aspects of the tool: how it looks, how it feels in the hand, and how it paints - to ensure that the end product is a true "fine art tool".
