"River" Driftwood Painter's Brush Rest

"River" a painter's brush rest was made from a piece of natural driftwood from Flathead Lake. The natural shape flows and moves like a mountain river. I made every effort to enhance the woods' natural features, by creating smooth, and satiny surfaces. 

The brush rest has a bamboo leg that creates stability and adds to the feeling of a moving river.

A lot of work went into creating this painter's brush rest. Making something like this requires a ton of work sanding, shaping, and detailing to create the final form. The pictures below don't capture the beauty of this functional art piece. I tried though :)
