Silicone Glider XL

 The Silicone Glider XL mark-making tool is designed to work with encaustic medium on a Roland HOTbox™ or another hot palette. This tool has a wide flat silicone surface that slides well on the hot box and moves more than removes paint. The marks can be subtle and organic. Like all my tools, this one can make a wide variety of interesting marks. See videos for specific examples.

*This item is made to order - please allow 5 to 6 working days for production. It is a complicated build so it requires a bit more time to make.

• The silicone tool head can withstand heat up to 350 F.
• The handle will have a burned-in pattern and will be about 10" to 12" in length
• The handle will be bamboo
• The tool head will be about 8" to 9" wide

This tool will be handmade by Elizabeth. Since these tools are handmade, each has its own unique mark, so it will always be specific to the artist that uses it. 

This tool is designed to pull and move paint across the plate, leaving “random” flowing marks, and shapes. It moves easily across the plate, allowing the artist to move the blade without disruption. Changing the angle of the tool head will also change the mark, and how much paint is moved or removed from the plate.
