White Horsehair Sumi-e Paint Brush with Driftwood Handle

This brush features driftwood from the North Shore of Flathead Lake and premium white horsehair. The driftwood retains the natural bark with a dark black and red tint. The handle is polished for a smooth texture. Crafting the ferrule requires soaking birch bark for weeks, which is then formed around the bamboo for a near-perfect fit. The white horsehair bristle offers great flex, strong spring, and varied marks with a slight taper and pointed tips.

The brush has:

• A leather hanging strap and wormwood bead
• The ferrule is natural birch and bamboo.

Traditional Sumi-e style tapered bristle head:

• The white horsehair is 4" in length and has a tapered shape
• The driftwood handle (including the birch ferrule) is 12" in length
