Coarse Black Horsehair Sumi-e Paint Brush with Driftwood Brush Rest

This unique and beautiful brush was made with black bamboo, coarse black horsehair, and comes with a driftwood brush rest. The bamboo handle is soft and satiny and has a geometric pattern carved into the end of the handle. The coarse black horsehair is stiff, has great flex, strong spring, and will make a wide variety of marks. The bristle head has a traditional Asian brush shape. The brush can make very bold and dynamic marks.

The brush has:

• A leather hanging strap 
• A driftwood brush rest

Bristlehead:

• The coarse horsehair is 2" in length 
• The handle is 8" in length

My brushes are made to create a vast array of marks. When I make a brush I think about all aspects of the tool: how it looks, how it feels in the hand, and how it paints - to ensure that the end product is a true "fine art tool".
