This unique paintbrush/tool holder was made with a piece of driftwood that we found last fall on the North Shore of Flathead Lake. It has many interesting and organic natural features including 4 copper hanging loops.
The brush holder was made from a single piece of driftwood. The wood has been smoothed and subtly shaped. It has 4 copper hanging loops, which hold up to 4 brushes or tools.
The holder has 2 bamboo "legs" to ensure it is sturdy and does not rock.
Brush Holder Specifications:
The holder has 4 copper hanging loops
The 1st loop is 8.5" from the bottom surface
The 2nd and 3rd loops are about 7" from the holder below
Elizabeth's tools add an indefinable elevation to plain working. Everything is weighted brilliantly. Similar to the day when you stepped back from an easel and held a piece of charcoal under the pad of your thumb and your mind and body became one with your mark making. All her tools are gorgeous, but more importantly they help express an elegance and confidence to your effort.
Its different, and better, than black encaustic paint
The mixture of this paint creates a "grippy" feel. You can create defined lines and shapes without pooling or separating that sometimes occurs with commercial encaustic paints. The cube shape allows you to make different types of marks directly with the cube which is a great way to start drawing.
I used a variety of tools to make marks, silicone kitchen utensils, silicon art shapers, etc and nothing compares to the tools offered by Elizabeth. The are easy to handle and allow you to execute finite movement, they create defined lines and clear patterns. I purchased the smaller size because I am working on an 8x10 aluminum plate and its perfect.
I have ordered from Elizabeth before and I am never disappointed. She has great customer service and the inkstone was exactly what I was looking for. It arrived very quickly and packed with great care. Thank you so much Elizabeth for your great products.
Using my ink bowls, made by Kim and decorated by Elizabeth, bring me pleasure every time I take them out. My newest bowl is a delight to look at with little orange fish darting round and it nestles in my hand as it it were custom made.
This pottery, along with Elizabeth's wonderful brushes, are gifts to myself. I delight in them!
I love the versatility of this wide silicone brush/tool. Using fluid acrylic paint, with a light touch, I was able to get interesting results for the body of the chicken, and then made the nest with a skunk brush. Such fun!
I love Elizabeth’s brushes!
