Large & Medium Sumi-e Paint Horsehair Paintbrushes With Wormwood Handles

These brushes were made by Elizabeth. The handles are made using beautiful pieces of natural wormwood from the Flathead valley and my super-premium black horsehair. The bristles are very soft, have natural uncut tips, are absorbent, and have great flex. The brush head has a traditional Sumi-e shape and is 4" in length.

The ferrules are porcelain and were hand-painted by Elizabeth. My idea with these brushes was to connect them to nature and this beautiful valley we live in.

The horsehair I used for the brush bristle is specifically for brush making. It is the best quality hair available and will perform beautifully.

Large Brush:

• The handle is 14" in length and has been conditioned with beeswax paste. The handle is sturdy, has good weight, and very smooth. It feels good to hold on to.
• This brush will hold a ton of media and has the potential to make very dramatic, large marks.

Medium Brush:

• The handle is 10" in length and has been conditioned with beeswax paste. It has a  lot of wormwood patterns and is very beautiful.
• THis brush will also hold a lot of medium

I consider my brushes to be a work of art in themselves, that being said they are made to make art.
