Coarse, Stiff Horsehair Brush with Bamboo Handle
Coarse, Stiff Horsehair Brush with Bamboo Handle
This brush is composed of a 4" - 5" bamboo handle with a leather hanging strap, and a 1" - 1.5" bristle head with a flat shape and rounded corners. The bristle is specifically chosen for its coarseness and may be white, black, or grey. This brush offers a maximal area of contact for painting and can be used for both creating texture, glazing and subtle lines, particularly for Cold Wax media. While it was originally designed for cold wax application, it works well with a variety of media including, oil, acrylic, and gel mediums, etc.
Clean-Up Information:
- Use a common art solvent (such as odorless paint thinner) to remove paint/cold wax, then wash with a mild soap such as Dove or Murphy's Oil Soap to remove any residual media.
- Use your fingers/palms to rub the wire bristles to remove the residual media from the brush head.
- Never leave sitting in-solvent
- Make sure to thoroughly clean and rinse off the solvent. Leaving solvent on without removing it with water and soap can damage the brush
