Black Horsehair Sumi-e Paintbrush with Ceramic Ferrule BHS #209
This unique and beautiful brush has a driftwood handle from the North Shore of Flathead Lake. The ferrule is ceramic and the paintbrush has a premium black horsehair bristle. The handle is super satiny, smooth, and has a beautiful organic natural growth at the top.
The horsehair is very soft but still has great flex, strong spring, and can make a wide variety of marks. The brush bristle has a traditional Sumi-e style tapered shape, and it is long, 4" in length. This brush will work with many different kinds of media including but not limited to watercolor, oil paint, and inks.
The brush bristle will hold a TON of media and can make very bold and dynamic marks. The tips are uncut, natural tips.
The brush has:
- A leather hanging strap
- The handle is 7" in length, including the ferrule
- The ferrule is ceramic
- Is 4" in length
- The brush head has a traditional tapered shape
My brushes are made to create a vast array of marks. When I make a brush I think about all aspects of the tool: how it looks, how it feels in the hand, and how it paints - to ensure that the end product is a true "fine art tool".
