This one-of-a-kind expressive brush is built around natural structure and movement.

The handle is genuine driftwood, shaped by water and time. I preserved its organic curves and subtle irregularities so the line of the wood guides how the brush feels in the hand. It is lightly finished to protect the surface while maintaining its natural character.

The ferrule is formed from cholla cactus. Its open cellular structure creates both visual depth and a strong mechanical hold for the hair. The surface is sealed for durability while retaining the distinctive pattern of the cactus.

The bristle is premium white horsehair with uncut, naturally tapered tips. It holds fluid beautifully and releases it with control. The bristle is soft but has a strong spring, allowing for broad atmospheric passages, gestural movement, or more tapered strokes depending on pressure.

A leather strap is attached for hanging in the studio.
