Artwork Description

Shadow Weave is an exploration of depth, flow, and pattern created with my custom Carbon Black encaustic paint. Layered, ribbon-like forms interlace across the surface, creating a woven rhythm of shadow and light. The movement within the composition feels both structured and organic—lines gathering, folding, and dispersing as though carried by an unseen current.

The handmade Asian calligraphy paper enhances these gestures, allowing the encaustic paint to absorb into the fibers in a way that emphasizes subtle texture and tonal variation. The result is a piece that feels alive with motion, refined yet expressive.
