Artwork Description

Woodland Drift is a quiet, atmospheric encaustic monotype created on hand-dyed Asian paper using water-based inks and encaustic paint. Soft vertical forms rise gently through the composition, echoing the impression of moving through trees or drifting along a forest path.

The layered washes of color and subtle transitions create a sense of lightness and ease—suggesting not a literal forest, but the feeling of wandering through one: softened edges, shifting shapes, and the calm rhythm of nature. The hand-dyed surface adds depth and organic variation, grounding the piece in warmth and movement.
