Horsehair Mark-Making Brush — Burned Bamboo Handle
Horsehair Mark-Making Brush — Burned Bamboo Handle
Couldn't load pickup availability
This brush is handcrafted with premium black horsehair and a fire-cured bamboo handle. The burned pattern on the bamboo creates a striking visual texture, giving the brush a bold, contemporary look while still honoring traditional sumi-style design. The natural flex and fine tips of the horsehair make this brush ideal for expressive ink work, washes, gestural strokes, and detailed mark-making.

At the end of the handle, I’ve added a metal tab and a leather hanging strap so the brush can be stored or displayed easily. Each brush is made by hand, one at a time, and has its own distinct character.

If you enjoy tools that carry both function and visual artistry, this brush is a special addition to your studio.
