Under Constraint is an original encaustic monotype created on handmade Asian paper. Layered line and repeated marks build a central presence that appears shaped by pressure, enclosure, and accumulation.

Created through encaustic monotype techniques, the image develops through transfer, compression, and the movement of molten wax. Intersecting linear elements wrap and cross the form, creating density and structure while allowing subtle tonal variation to remain visible beneath the surface.

The work remains intentionally open, balancing abstraction and suggestion while emphasizing material, rhythm, and internal tension rather than narrative or literal representation.
