Description
Through Air and Memory is a sweeping encaustic monotype that captures the ethereal presence of a dragon in motion—part myth, part breath, part shimmering echo. Created with my carbon-based encaustic paints and R&F encaustic paint, the piece rises through the vertical composition like a memory unfolding through air.

The dragon’s form coils and drifts with a sense of ancient rhythm, balancing power with delicacy. Subtle color, textured linework, and hand-rendered details reference traditional East Asian aesthetics while remaining rooted in a contemporary, intuitive mark-making approach. Artist chops in red add a final ceremonial touch.
