Black Horsehair Sumi-e Paint Brush with Fish Bone Ferrule

This unique and beautiful brush was made with bamboo roots and black horsehair. The bamboo handle has a ferrule made with a natural spine fishbone. The horsehair is coarse, has great flex, strong spring and will make a wide variety of marks. The horsehair has been cut into a traditional Asian brush shape.

• The black horsehair is 1.5" in length
• The handle is 8" in length

My brushes are made to create a vast array of marks. When I make a brush I think about all aspects of the tool: how it looks, how it feels in the hand and how it paints - to ensure that the end product is a true "fine art tool".
