White Horsehair Paint Brush with Striped Bamboo Handle
White Horsehair Paint Brush with Striped Bamboo Handle
This brush was made by Elizabeth. It has a tapered bristle head that will make a wide variety of marks, and textures. The brush bristle is made with my coarse white horsehair. The handle has a burned-in striped pattern. Creating this kind of burned-in pattern requires both more time and materials.
I intentionally created a light to dark theme when making this brush. Starting with the white horsehair, then using black bamboo for the ferrule, followed by the light to dark strips on the handle, and ending with the light brown leather hanging strap.
The ferrule is made with black bamboo, with an additional bamboo insert. This type of brush will make a wide variety of marks, from very wide and thick, to thin, light lines.
The brush end also has a leather hanging strap. This brush type can work with a lot of different media including ink, acrylic, and many other media types.
- Handle: 12" in length
- Bristle: 3" in length
My brushes are made to make art :) - they are versatile, and a stiffer blunt bristle head will be a terrific mark maker, offering the artist a ton of mark-making options.
