White Horsehair Sumi-e Paint Brush with Driftwood Handle
No se pudo cargar la disponibilidad de retiro
This brush features driftwood from the North Shore of Flathead Lake and premium white horsehair. The driftwood retains the natural bark with a dark black and red tint. The handle is polished for a smooth texture. Crafting the ferrule requires soaking birch bark for weeks, which is then formed around the bamboo for a near-perfect fit. The white horsehair bristle offers great flex, strong spring, and varied marks with a slight taper and pointed tips.
The brush has:
- A leather hanging strap and wormwood bead
- The ferrule is natural birch and bamboo.
Traditional Sumi-e style tapered bristle head:
- The white horsehair is 4" in length and has a tapered shape
- The driftwood handle (including the birch ferrule) is 12" in length
My brushes are made to create a vast array of marks. When I make a brush I think about all aspects of the tool: how it looks, how it feels in the hand, and how it paints - to ensure that the end product is a true "fine art tool".
