Skunk Bristle Brush – Birch Driftwood Handle

This one-of-a-kind brush is made with long, tapered skunk bristles and a naturally weathered birch driftwood handle sourced from Flathead Lake. The bristles have a beautiful gradation from deep black to soft white, offering an expressive range of mark-making—from fine, pointed lines to wider, fluid strokes.

I design each brush with intention, shaping the handle by hand and allowing the natural character of the wood to guide the form. This brush has a strong visual presence, very soft flex, and a responsive feel in the hand—ideal for ink, watercolor, and other water-based, fluid mediums.

Why I Love This Brush
Skunk bristles create truly unique marks—soft enough to produce continuous, fluid strokes, yet structured enough to form clean, pointed lines. Paired with the birch driftwood handle, this brush feels grounded and balanced in the hand. It’s a special tool for artists who enjoy organic materials and expressive brushwork.
